《Papillon》是王嘉尔继《Generation2》后创作的又一首嘻哈单曲，他全程监制了歌曲制作的每一个细节。期间，为了达到更好的效果，他在编曲上多次请教了音乐上的好友 。该曲灵感源自王嘉尔看过的一部电影，他想借该曲传达“只要有梦想都应该追求，只要努力过就不会后悔”的态度。在创作《Papillon》整首歌旋律之后，王嘉尔很快就有了写词的灵感，在工作的闲暇之余就将歌曲的副歌部分完成。之后他又创作了多个版本歌词，最终采取了最初的版本，因为他认为““即兴创作时的音乐最具有灵魂。

MV开始，王嘉尔在直升机和跑车的轰鸣中出现，径直走向盒子中“旧的自己”，然后火焰腾空而起。之后，MV一一展现雕像、长桌、吊灯、城堡等，王嘉尔游走于各个房间，不断挣扎，最终亲手烧掉了“旧的自己”。这时场景切换，王嘉尔驱车穿过空旷无人的停机坪来到城堡外，用狂欢和舞蹈与过去的自己告别。此外，王嘉尔参与了MV的场景设计及全场拍摄过程。
