纽卡斯尔联的队歌是《Local Hero》，作者是英国著名歌手兼作曲家马克·诺弗勒（Mark Knopfler）。

首先我们要讲一下这首歌的创作背景。这首歌是同名电影《Local Hero》的插曲之一，这个电影拍摄于1983年，拍摄于苏格兰，是一部喜剧。这部电影的导演比尔·福赛斯获得了1984年巴夫塔最佳导演奖。

《Local Hero》是目前纽卡斯尔联官方的队歌，但是有人曾经提出用其他歌替代《Local Hero》作为纽卡斯尔联的新队歌。提出换队歌的这个人，是曾效力于纽卡斯尔联的米基·奎因。此人退役后成为了英国talkSPORT的电台评论员。
“当球员从球员通道走出来的时候，现场播放《Local Hero》，这根本不会对客队起到威慑作用。”奎因说道，“我会把Blayton Races选为新的队歌，因为它能提升球场的气氛。”
“球迷制造的噪声有助于活跃球场的气氛。”
但是奎因的这番言论遭到了很多人的反对。
有一位叫“failNUFC76”的网友在网上说道：“我非常尊重米克·奎因但是我完全不同意他说的话，我非常喜欢看到纽卡斯尔联的球员伴随着《Local Hero》的音乐从球员通道走向圣詹姆斯公园球场的正中央。”另一位名叫亚当·拉塞尔的纽卡斯尔联球迷也反对奎因更换队歌的提议。“即使我不在现场观看纽卡斯尔联的比赛，我还是喜欢在MOTD中，在展示球队出场阵容的时候，去听《Local Hero》。”
接下来我要介绍我刚才提到的《Blaydon Races》。这首歌在纽卡斯尔联球迷群体中，传唱度颇高。

《Blaydon Races》是泰恩河畔纽卡斯尔当地的一个民谣，它创作于1862年，1891年才公开发行。作者是乔迪·雷德利。这首歌大致讲的是作者观看Blaydon这个地方举办的赛马比赛的所见所闻。Blaydon是泰恩河畔纽卡斯尔南部的一个小镇。
这首歌第一次公开的时间是1862年6月5日，雷德利在泰恩河畔纽卡斯尔的鲍姆布拉音乐厅公开演唱《Blaydon Races》这首歌。下面给大家看一下这首歌的歌词。
